The Grand Ballot

Answer well. Give quietly.

A question based prize competition. Every entry helps bring clean power, warmth and transport to the households that need them most.

An ancient amphora on a stone plinth

The meaning of Amporah

A vessel, filled together, carried to where it is needed

In the ancient world the amphora carried what communities needed to live: oil, grain, wine and water. It was filled together, sealed, and passed from hand to hand across the sea.

The Amporah Community Foundation is set up the same way, as a modern, digital amphora. Each entry adds a little to a shared vessel, and what it carries goes where it is needed most.

Today it carries life changing technologies, solar power, clean heat, home batteries and clean transport, to the most vulnerable communities in society.

Your carbon record

Every ticket leaves a measurable mark

Each prize has a known yearly CO2 saving. When your paid ticket is confirmed, your share of that saving is logged in your account, alongside the money you gave back. Over time it builds into a personal record of the good you have done, one you can share with your community.

Why it is here, on a travel site

Travel moves people. It leaves a footprint too.

Transfer Travel already stops booked trips going to waste. The Foundation goes one step further: every ticket helps fund clean technology that keeps cutting CO2 for years. It is a practical way to balance the footprint of the journeys our community takes, while lowering bills for the households that need it most.

Carbon credits

Recorded today, ready for certification

We are working towards turning the savings from Foundation-funded installations into verified carbon credits with a registered carbon standard. This is planned, and your record carries forward when it happens. Until a partner certifies them, we show your impact in kilograms and tonnes, not as credits or cash value.
