We ask for identity documents and booking paperwork because the marketplace does not work without them. This page explains exactly what happens to those documents afterwards.

What we collect

For buyers: your name, contact details, payment record and the traveller details the supplier requires to reissue a booking.

For sellers: the same, plus government photo identification and the original booking confirmation, which we read in order to verify the listing.

For partner organisations: the contact details of named users and the booking data uploaded into your workspace.

What is never published

A seller's surname, address, email address, telephone number and booking reference are never shown on a listing. Buyers see a first name and an initial, how long the seller has been trading and how many transfers they have completed.

Identity documents are never shown to another user under any circumstances.

Who can see it

Access to identity documents and booking confirmations is restricted to the team members handling that specific case, and every access is logged.

We share the minimum necessary traveller details with the supplier in order to complete a transfer, and payment data with our payment processor. We do not sell data to anyone.

How long we keep it

Identity documents are deleted twelve months after the last completed transaction. Booking confirmations are deleted twenty-four months after travel. Financial records are retained for six years, as tax law requires.

Accounts that never complete a transaction are deleted after twelve months of inactivity.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will respond within one calendar month. Where we cannot delete something, for example a financial record we are obliged to keep, we will tell you which record and why.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function and, with your consent, a small number that tell us which pages are useful. If you accept analytics, we record the pages you open, where you came from, your device, browser, language and an approximate town-level location worked out from your IP address. We remove the last part of the IP address before saving it, so it cannot identify your home. We do not run advertising trackers and never sell this data.
